Vodacom Stormers announce team for Waratahs

Schalk Brits will make his first start for the Cape franchise since moving back here from Johannesburg. He will start at hooker in place of Hanyani Shimange, who is still bothered by a leg injury.

Shimange has been bracketed on the bench with Australian import, Huia Edmonds.

There was good news about Jean de Villiers. The Springbok centre had to leave the training field on Tuesday with a groin injury, but was deemed fit enough to be included by Van der Merwe.

There are still a few doubts over the fitness of prop Neil Fullard and flank David Hendricks. Attie Winter and Justin Melck are on standby.

The Vodacom WP team play the Lions in a Vodacom Cup curtain raiser match at 17h00.
