The DHL Stormers and Vodacom Bulls squad will end their pre-season preparations with a practice match in Paarl on Friday. Here is all you need to know.

Faure Street Stadium will host the first match between these two teams to be held in Paarl, which comes two weeks out from the start of the 26/27 season.

The people of Paarl will turn up in their numbers, with a big crowd expected, so make sure you give yourself enough time to enter the stadium ahead of kick-off at 15h30 on Friday. Gates open at 13h30 and there is a capacity of 15 000 spectators.

Buy your tickets from stormers.co.za ahead of matchday to avoid the queues, or visit the Ticketmaster trailer, which will be outside the Faure Street municipal swimming pool from Wednesday at midday and on Thursday and Friday from 09h00. The trailers will accept card purchases only.

The match

A 29-man DHL Stormers squad will get a proper work-out against their rivals from Pretoria as both teams take the chance to get some gametime in before the Vodacom URC gets underway in a fortnight.

There is a good mix of youth and experience in the DHL Stormers squad for this practice match, with all 29 players looking to make an impression ahead of the new season.

Friday – Your matchday, planned

09h00: Tickets on sale at the stadium from a Ticketmaster trailer outside the Faure Street municipal swimming pool. Card only (cash will not be accepted). Buy your tickets at stormers.co.za to avoid the queues on matchday.

13h30: Gates open at Faure Street Stadium.

15h30: Kick-off. Time to bring the gees.

It is going to be packed, so make sure you catch all of the action live and get to your viewing spot well ahead of kick-off.

Parking – Expect and plan for congestion

There is no dedicated public parking area at the stadium and there will be road closures around the stadium. Park in legally demarcated parking only.

Faure Street Stadium is in a residential precinct. Please respect the residents and co-operate with traffic officials on duty. Vehicles that are illegally parked will be fined and/or towed.

Your match ticket

Tickets are available to purchase at stormers.co.za and at the swimming pool near the stadium (card only) while still available.

Buy yours online to skip the queues. Tickets purchased from Viagogo or any other third party will not be valid.

Ensure that you have added your digital match tickets to your phone’s wallet from the Stormers App before you get to the stadium, for a quick tap for easy entry. Screenshots will not work at the gates, so please add your ticket to your wallet in advance.

All those entering the stadium are requested to have their digital tickets on their own phone to reduce congestion and delays on entry.

If you are sitting in one of the stands, seats are unreserved. You need to sit in the stand as shown on your ticket, but you may choose your own seats.

How to purchase digital tickets

Register — create an account at stormers.co.za. Click on Tickets, then the head and shoulders icon on stormers.tmtickets.co.za, and select ‘register’.
Buy — once registered and signed in, book and pay. You will receive a confirmation email.
App — download the Stormers App and sign in with the same credentials. Your tickets will be in the tickets tab, ready to add to your wallet.

How to transfer digital tickets

In the app, go to the tickets tab → Manage Tickets → select the tickets you want to transfer → ‘Forward to a friend’. The recipient must have a registered Stormers ticketing account. Membership numbers can be found in the settings tab of the app or on stormers.tmtickets.co.za once logged in.

How to add your digital ticket to your wallet

Download the Stormers App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Sign in with the same email address and password used to set up your account on stormers.tmtickets.co.za. Your tickets will be in the tickets tab and can be added to your phone wallet from there.

On the day: What you need to know

The event is cashless – all purchases are by CARD ONLY

There will be no alcohol on sale, but food and soft drinks will be available.

No food or drink (including alcohol) may be brought into the stadium.

No gazebos, umbrellas, braais, skottles, or cooler boxes will be allowed into venue. Spectators may however bring their own fold-up chairs.

No smoking or vaping is permitted.

No spectator is permitted on the pitch. Pitch invasion is a criminal offence. Please do not run onto the pitch after the match.

Be aware of pickpockets at the stadium and car-jamming in parking areas. Keep your valuables close.

Please respect those around you and abide by the stadium rules and the ticketing conditions of use, available on the DHL Stormers website.

Prohibited items

The following items are not permitted:

Umbrellas
Food and drinks of any kind (including alcohol)
Gazebos, tents, umbrellas, braais, skottles, or cooler boxes
Cans, glass or plastic bottles of any kind, including squeezer bottles
Firearms, ammunition or any device as defined in the Firearms Control Act, 2000 (Act No. 60 of 2000)
Fireworks
Sharp metal objects
Explosives
Tear gas, mace or similar airborne chemical agents
Narcotics
Liquor
Dangerous weapons as defined in the Dangerous Weapons Act, 1968 (Act No. 71 of 1968), including knives and sticks
Unauthorised cameras with detachable lenses
Flagpoles or banner poles of any kind, unless made from non-flammable and flexible plastic not exceeding 1 metre in length and 1cm in diameter
Clothing, banners, flags, placards or items that are racist, sexist, discriminatory, political or offensive in nature
Ambush marketing items
Animals
Fraudulent tickets
