Despite horrendous conditions in Perth last weekend against the Force, the team did enough to pick up the win thanks to Bryan Habana’s interception and another try on tour for Peter Grant.

The Stormers may be back home and on a well-earned bye week, but there are still plenty of important matches this weekend, meaning plenty of important SuperBru predictions to be made:

The first match of the weekend sees the Hurricanes take on the Blues, where given the visitors’ dismal run of eight defeats in a row, the home side are the only team to back. Hurricanes by 7. Friday’s other game is across the Tasman in Melbourne, with the Rebels facing off against the powerful Bulls. So inconsistent this season with a leaky defence, it seems certain that the visitors will pick up a heavy away win. Bulls by 13.

Saturday then starts with league leaders the Chiefs hosting the Lions at home, set to continue their stint at the top with their 9th victory of the season. Chiefs by 15. One of the harder matches to call then takes place in Canberra with the Brumbies hosting the Waratahs. Jake White’s side have pulled off some surprising results so far this season, making them the favourites going into Saturday’s match given the Waratahs lack of form. Brumbies by 5.

Later that day the Sharks will host the Highlanders in Durban, desperate for a win to get their playoff hopes back on track. The visitors’ pack however has taken a few scalps so far this season. Highlanders by 6. Then the Cheetahs host the Western Force in the visitors’ first match on tour. Despite losing Johan Goosen for four months, the home side should have enough to win this one comfortably. Cheetahs by 8.

Last but not least, on Sunday morning the Crusaders will host the Reds in Christchurch. In a rich vein of form, the home side should complete revenge over the champions for last year’s defeat in the final. Crusaders by 9.
