New jersey flying off the shelf
The official match jersey, which the Vodacom Stormers will wear for the first time in a match against the Vodacom Cheetahs on Saturday, has been manufactured by adidas International. This ensures that all the latest adidas technologies – climacool and formotion are incorporated in the new match kit.
The jersey will be tighter on the players thus making it more difficult for an opposition player to grab the jersey whilst trying to make a tackle. There are also no seams on the key attack area’s (lower front and back areas), also making it more difficult for opposition.
From a replica point of view, the Vodacom Stormers jersey has been flying off the shelf and retailers are fiercely trying to keep up with demand.
“The new Vodacom Stormers jersey has been extremely well received by the market place. Sales have been very encouraging from a company point of view, with the figures showing that supporters nationwide have embraced the change in Stormers colours,” said Adrian de Souza, sponsor representative for adidas.
The new Vodacom Stormers jersey can be found at the major sporting retailers nationwide. The following stores carry stock: Adidas Concept stores, Sportsmans Warehouse, Totalsports, Sneakers and the WP Shop (021 686 8181) at Newlands Rugby Stadium. Replica jersey sizes range from small to 3xl. Ladies, kids and toddlers jerseys will be available from mid February.
The other new Vodacom Stormers replica items will be available from March.
