Neck injury forces Ferreira out of Super 14

The young forward injured his neck in later half of the 2007 season and came onto the field for the Vodacom Stormers in their 72-10 victory over Boland in Wellington last Saturday. Following a scan earlier this week, Vodacom Stormers Commercial Manager Frikkie Erasmus confirmed that Ferreira will be sidelined for the entire season.

The injury is considered serious and further medical opinions are being garnered.

Schalk made his senior provincial debut for Vodacom WP in 2005 against the Blue Bulls and played his first Vodacom Super 14 match against the Chiefs at Newlands last year.
