DHL Stormers too strong for SWD Eagles
The DHL Stormers scored two tries in the first half and four in the second, in front of an enthusiastic crowd in George, in a convincing display in the sweltering heat.
In a tense first half, the DHL Stormers scored the only two tries, with flyhalf Kurt Coleman and wing Leolin Zas crossing to put them 14-0 up at the break.
Head coach Robbie Fleck made wholesale changes at half-time as he sought to give as many players as possible a chance to get some game-time against a determined Eagles side.
The second half saw the game open up as the SWD defence battled to cope with the constant onslaught from the visitors.
Zas ran in two more tries to complete his hat-trick whilst Nizaam Carr and Khanyo Ncgukana also crossed the whitewash to seal a comfortable victory in the end.
The Eagles managed to score two tries of their own in the second half through Christo du Plessis and Gershwin Muller, but it was not enough as the DHL Stormers cruised to victory.
