Schalk Burger medical update

A statement from Schalk’s agent, on Thursday, read as follows: “We would like to thank the specialists and hospital staff who have given Schalk excellent care.

“Special thanks from Schalk and Michele to all the family, friends and fans who have sent overwhelming messages of support to the family over this time.”

Schalk contracted bacterial meningitis following an operation to reduce pressure on a nerve that was influencing the performance of his calf muscle.

WP Rugby would also like to thank everyone for their kind messages, all of which have been delivered to Schalk.
