Some of the Stormers players who were returning from injury were expected to join the squad at training on Monday. They include former Springbok fullback Conrad Jantjes, who joined the Western Cape regional side from the Lions and Cats.

All the contracted Springboks, except for Jean de Villiers and the injured De Wet Barry, were also expected to report for training on Monday.

A few on-field sessions have been scheduled for this week. “The Vodacom Stormers are putting in the hours both in the gym and on the training field,” says Vodacom Stormers Team Manager Chippie Solomon.

“Supporters, especially the kids who are on school holidays, are welcome to come watch the team in their on field sessions. As always, the players will be happy to sign autographs after the practice session.”

The Stormers will be having their training camp in George from 15 to 20 December.

They play two friendly games – against the Bulls at Loftus on 13 January and Boland on 20 January at Wellington – before kicking off their campaign with an away match against the Cheetahs on 3 February.

On Monday there is an on-field session at the WP training facility in Bellville at 17:00, followed by another one at the same time on Wednesday. The on-field session on Friday is at 12:30 in Bellville before the players take a breather on Saturday and Sunday.
