SuperBru preview – Round 10

A brilliant first half against the Reds in Brisbane meant that the hosts had too much to do in the second half, Peter Grant’s 15 points and Gio Aplon’s first half try proving enough to make it two wins out of three so far on tour.

The fourth and final match away from Cape Town sees Alastair Coetzee’s side travel to Perth to take on the Western Force. The injuries might be starting to pile up but the Force are not having the best of seasons, so be confident in your SuperBru predictions. If Peter Grant keeps striking the ball sweetly, then the visitors should win this comfortably. DHL Stormers by 10.

Before the Stormers run out on Saturday however, all eyes will be on the preceding match between the Chiefs and the Hurricanes. If the home side pick up a defeat, then the Stormers could go top of the table. This looks unlikely though given the Chiefs’ good current run of form. Chiefs by 8.

The final game on Saturday sees the Cheetahs host the Highlanders. With the number of tries both sides have racked up so far this season, there should be plenty to keep the crowd on their feet in this one. The visitors’ long flight from Dunedin combined with the hosts’ week off should give the Cheetahs the advantage. Cheetahs by 5.

Friday’s two matches are in Auckland and Johannesburg, starting with the Blues taking on the Reds in a match between two struggling sides. The champions’ injury curse has continued and they appear unlikely to get a win away against an improving Blues outfit. Blues by 6. The Lions then host the in-form Brumbies, with Jake White’s visiting side expected to pick a comfortable win. Brumbies by 12.

Finally on Sunday the Waratahs host the Crusaders in Sydney, with the visitors expected to maintain their charge on the wildcard spots. Crusaders by 9.
