Kolisi hails impact of DHL Newlands Faithful
DHL Stormers captain Siya Kolisi said the atmosphere created by the DHL Newlands Faithful made a big difference for his team in their 37-20 victory against the Blues.
The DHL Stormers got back to winning ways back on home turf, with the atmosphere created both inside and outside DHL Newlands before and during the match making it a memorable occasion for all who attended.
The DHL Stormers arrived at DHL Newlands to much fanfare, with the Orient Marching Band and the throngs of faithful fans packing out Boundary rd for their arrival.
When Kolisi and his teammates got off the team bus, they could already feel the support, which translated into a convincing performance on the pitch.
The DHL Stormers skipper said the team is extremely grateful for the support they get from the best fans in the world.
“I want to thank the DHL Newlands Faithful for the past weekend, it was an amazing atmosphere especially before the game.
“Driving down the road with the marching band there and everyone so excited to see us, we knew the atmosphere would be amazing at DHL Newlands.
“It was really amazing to see you guys supporting us during the game and after the game as well,” he said.
Kolisi added that his team is looking forward to the upcoming game against the Reds, which is another opportunity to play in front of the DHL Newlands Faithful and make another step-up in their game.
“Hopefully we will see everyone at DHL Newlands again this weekend and we can have the same atmosphere, or even better because as a team we also want to improve on our performance,” he said.
