DHL Stormers to discover new paths with Sealand
Sealand have joined the DHL Stormers and DHL Western Province team as official baggage supplier for the upcoming season and beyond.
Sealand is a proudly Capetonian brand which is making waves on a global stage, in much the same way as the DHL Stormers will be aiming to do in the United Rugby Championship, which kicks off this month.
All Sealand bags are made utilising the artisanal skills found in the Western Cape, using waste material to produce something that is both high quality and sustainable.
Their bags sit alongside some of the top luxury brands worldwide on retail shelves within the likes of Selfridges in the UK and Nordstrom in the USA, to name a few.
As the DHL Stormers embark on their inaugural URC campaign, they will have the support of the Sealand team, with each player boasting the Sealand Bluffer as their travel luggage and their unique customised Jolla as a game day backpack. Each bag is completely unique, bears the name of a skilled artisan in Cape Town and has been specifically customised to the need of the DHL Stormers players. Replica DHL Stormers Sealand bags are also available from Sealand stores and the DHL Stormers’ online shop – stormersshop.co.za.
This exciting new partnership with the DHL Stormers is a natural one, given that both authentically represent the fabric of the Western Cape and have a global footprint. The passion of the DHL Stormers Faithul both at home and around the world for the team echoes the care that goes into making every single Sealand bag. For both the DHL Stormers and Sealand, community is vitally important and the DHL Stormers are looking forward to having Sealand a part of us and the team as we forge ahead to discover new paths together.
An additional area of alignment between the two brands comes from their shared support of the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI).
The ocean and its health plays a key role in the Cape Ecosystem and water safety and education is vital for the future sustainability of this unique environment. The combined platform created by the Sealand and the DHL Stormers will raise funds to ensure the ongoing work of this incredible organisation, with every DHL Stormers replica bag sold resulting in funds being raised for the NSRI.
DHL Stormers Head Coach John Dobson said that it is great to have the support of such an authentic Cape Town brand.
“It is fantastic to have Sealand on board as our baggage supplier, their passion for their products and the people that make them is very similar to our team and the unique connection we have with our faithful supporters,” he said.
Sealad co-founder Jasper Eales said that this partnership makes sense given the synergy of the two brands.
“This exciting new partnership marks a progressive step forward for the Sealand brand. Aligning our common focus of making Cape Town proud, through an honest and inclusive dedication to purpose driven objectives, community involvement and an aspirational lifestyle, resulting in increased opportunities and general well being,” he said.
