DHL Stormers claim full house in Llanelli
The DHL Stormers scored four tries to claim a crucial 29-17 bonus point win against Scarlets in Llanelli on Saturday.
They were made to work hard to maintain their unbeaten record against the Welsh side, but did enough in the end to take a full house with a late try sealing the bonus point at Parc y Scarlets.
The opening exchanges were intense, with the DHL Stormers absorbing some pressure on defence and then moving into opposition territory.
The first try was a classic team effort as Ben Loader finished in the corner after some good interplay from forwards and backs.
The second try saw them come from their own half as a few outrageous dummies from Warrick Gelant and some breathtaking offloads saw Deon Fourie cross the line.
The Scarlets hit back with a try from wing Ellis Mee, but the DHL Stormers had the final say in the first half as Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu kicked an early penalty with time up to send them into the break with a 15-7 advantage.
The home side struck first in the second half, with a try from fullback Ioan Nicolas, which reduced the gap to just one point.
It took a while for the DHL Stormers to respond, but when they did it was emphatic as Leolin Zas went straight through the defensive line from a set move off an attacking line-out.
The Scarlets did not give in and brought themselves back within range with a penalty, but the final blow came at the death as hooker Andre-Hugo Venter scored to seal the bonus point and the win for the visitors.
