DHL Stormers back on home turf at DHL Stadium

3 years ago Uncategorized

The DHL Stormers will play their first home game of 2022 when they face the Cell C Sharks in a Vodacom United Rugby Championship coastal clash on Saturday.

The two teams played out to a thrilling draw in Durban last week, so we should be set for an action-packed 80 minutes when the match gets underway at 17h05 on Saturday.

Once again, there will be 2000 spectators allowed to attend according to government COVID-19 protocols. Here is all you need to know if you will be there to cheer on the DHL Stormers.

The team would love nothing more than to see the stands at DHL Stadium filled with the Faithful, so it is crucial that we all work together to follow the regulations put in place to give ourselves the best chance of having the number of spectators allowed by government increased.

All those attending any sporting fixtures in South Africa must be fully vaccinated and wearing a medical mask at all times. This means that no spectator will be allowed to enter DHL Stadium without a medical mask, vaccination certificate, ID and a match ticket. There will be no match tickets sold on the day, so ensure that you get yours from the Ticketpro website – (CLICK HERE) – beforehand.

For this reason, it will take longer than usual to enter the stadium, so we are encouraging you to arrive at DHL Stadium at least two hours before kick-off. The match starts at 17h05, so get down there by 15h05, to make sure you do not miss any of the action.

Parking is available to the public in the P3 parking area outside the stadium. The parking area is on the Eastern side of the stadium, with the entrance on Fritz Sonnenberg Rd opposite the McDonalds. Parking costs R100 per car and is only available online via Ticketpro. There will be no parking sold on the day at the entrance, so ensure you get yours now here – CLICK HERE to buy parking tickets.

Once you arrive at DHL Stadium you will enter via the chutes that will be set up at the Southern end of the stadium, adjacent to the athletics track. Here you will be required to sanitise your hands before entering the chutes and then prepare your documentation for checking. All spectators must present a valid match ticket, a vaccination certificate (printed or digital version) which shows them to be fully vaccinated and ID (either an ID card/book or a drivers licence).

Once your documentation has been checked, every spectator will undergo a COVID-19 screening process. Temperatures will be checked and any person whose temperature registers above 37.5 degrees Celcius or exhibits any COVID-19 symptoms will be taken to a holding area for 15 minutes after which they will have their temperature taken again and allowed entry if it registers below 37.5 degrees. Any bags will be scanned and spectators will be required to sanitise their hands before proceeding up the stairs to the stadium bowl.

There will be no pass-outs allowed, so if you choose to leave the stadium after entering, you will not be allowed back in. Please also note that DHL Stadium is a non-smoking stadium, so no smoking of any kind including e-cigarettes will be allowed inside the stadium. All spectators must please sit in the seat designated to them on their match ticket, to ensure and maintain correct social distancing as per government COVID-19 protocols.

There will be food, drink (no alcohol will be sold according to government COVID-19 protocols) on sale inside the stadium, but there will be no ATM facilities, so please ensure that you bring cash with you in order to make any purchases.
