The DHL Stormers face French giants RC Toulon in an Investec Champions Cup clash at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Saturday. Here is all you need to know ahead of the game.

History will be made as Gqeberha hosts its first-ever Investec Champions Cup match on Saturday. Gates at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium will open at 14h15 ahead of kick-off at 17h15. Tickets are available via Webtickets and at Pick n Pay and Boxer stores.

Hooker Joseph Dweba and loose forward Willie Engelbrecht will both be playing their 50th match for the DHL Stormers in what promises to be a special occasion in Round One of the Investec Champions Cup, which is the world’s elite club competition with the top eight teams from the Vodacom URC, Gallagher Premiership and Top 14, all striving to lift the trophy.

The visiting team are three-times winners of the Investec Champions Cup and boast a squad packed with international talent, which should make for an epic clash with the DHL Stormers.

The Eastern Cape is a rugby heartland and the people of Gqeberha are known for their knowledge and appreciation of the game. There is no shortage of passionate support, so the DHL Stormers can expect a warm welcome in the friendly city.

There is a big crowd expected for this match, so ensure that you get down to the stadium early and make the most of the day.

Fan Village

There will be a fan village at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium inside the Prince Alfred gate, for those with match tickets, which opens at 14h15 and will only close two hours after the final whistle, with fun for the whole family to enjoy.

Algoa FM DJ Kaycee Rossouw will be live from the venue, which will also feature food trucks, bars, great music, traditional and Pantsula dance acts and a kiddie zone with inflatables and face painting.

The stadium will be hive of excitement ahead of kick-off, with various handouts and activities from DHL Stormers partners at gates and in the fan village, so come early and enjoy the vibe before the match kicks off.

Match tickets

Tickets are available to purchase at Webtickets.co.za (CLICK HERE to buy your ticket now) and Pick n Pay and Boxer stores. Tickets purchased from Viagogo or any other third party will not be valid. CLICK HERE for conditions of use of our match tickets.

Tickets will be on sale at the stadium on match day, with purchases using card only. No cash will be accepted at the box office.

All spectators must have a valid ticket, which will be scanned on entry at fence line.

All tickets have an allocated block and seat number. Please sit in the correct block and seat which is printed clearly on your ticket and keep your ticket on you at all times.

To facilitate seating in the correct block and seat number, there will be a secondary ticket security check on the concourse before entry into the seating block is allowed. Signage and officials on the concourse will help direct you to the correct block, row and seat.

Webtickets officials will be on duty outside the venue at the gates and inside the venue on the concourse at block entry, to assist with queries or issues.

Parking

No vehicles will be allowed into the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium parking area unless they present security with a VVIP or VIP Parking Ticket.

Public Parking is available at Sydenham Primary school across from the stadium. 350 bays will be available at R20 a car. Parking opens at 13h45. Please park legally and respect the residents – traffic enforcement will be in force.

Security

Please note that no spectator is allowed access to the pitch. Any person invading the pitch can be prosecuted as this is a criminal offence.

Please respect all those around you and abide by the stadium rules and the ticketing conditions of use which are available on our website.

There will be a large uniformed presence of security, SAPS and city officials in the stadium precinct. Please remain vigilant and keep your valuables close to you at all times.
