Message from WPRFU President Mr Thelo Wakefield

Our visitors from Argentina are newcomers to Vodacom Super Rugby this season, and considering the talent they have at their disposal I expect a fiercely competitive match.

The DHL Stormers have a new leader this year in Robbie Fleck, who is certainly no stranger to DHL Newlands having enjoyed a distinguished career with the union as a player, I wish him and his team well as they embark on a new journey this season.

I would also like to welcome our sponsors – title sponsors DHL, associate sponsors LandRover, adidas and our new associate sponsors BrightRock – and their representatives.

Although this is a pre-season friendly, the first match of the year at DHL Newlands is always an exciting time, and we are expecting great support from our faithful fans, as ever.

I trust that the match will be played in a good spirit as both teams finalise their preparations for what promises to be an exciting Vodacom Super Rugby season with a new expanded format.
