Message from Nick Mallett

We have succeeded in putting in place many of the structures and remain confident that we are on the correct track to produce the required results.

Last year we were open and frank in our assessments. We will win and lose games at all levels. Crucial however is a conviction that we are moving in the right direction. We will remain focused on the objectives formulated at the end of 2005 – nothing has changed – we will remain committed to our newly established structures and young players. The future is important.

At top tier in the Vodacom Stormers, we have an enormously talented young side. Despite having showed their inexperience in their inability to close out two tight games against the Brumbies and Waratahs, there were positives. The performance against the Highlanders was not acceptable at this level and has been addressed. Despite the loss on Saturday, we remain convinced that our chosen solution is the correct one.
