DHL Stormers honoured by Japanese Ambassador

The Ambassador of Japan Mr Shigeyuki Hiroki on Monday evening hosted WP leadership, the DHL Stormers and the visiting Sunwolves team at a sparkling event in Cape Town, further cementing ties.

“History was made when the DHL Stormers played the Sunwolves last Friday night at DHL Newlands’ said WPRFU President Thelo Wakefield.

“The match represented an opportunity to open ties not just with the visiting Sunwolves team and leadership, but also with the Japanese government and business and the Japan Club.

“2019 will see Japan host the Rugby World Cup and the growth of the sport in that nation alongside the evolution of the new Sunwolves franchise offers many potentially mutually beneficial opportunities. We are excited about the opportunities and look forward to fostering greater ties into the future with all the parties.”
