Vodacom Stormers begin preparing for Force
“The bye has been good for us. The players have had time to recover from the trip across and are well rested,” said coach Kobus van der Merwe.
The Stormers had a light session at the Palmyra Rugby Club on Saturday and will up the ante from Monday with the sights firmly set on getting off to a winning start.
“The hard work begins now,” said van der Merwe. “We will have a few intense sessions in the week. We expect that the Force will play similar to the way they did against the Bulls on Saturday night so it will probably be a high-paced match.
“The key for us has been to look at our own game and the areas where we can improve. As we have said before, it is vital that we play for 80 minutes, and keep our focus”.
The weather has been cool in Perth over the past few days with no signs of rain playing a part on Friday. Meanwhile, the Stormers have resolved the problems around their captain’s run, which had been hindered by an Aussie Rules fixture at “Subi” on Thursday. The captain’s run will no take place on Wednesday.
The match-22 will be named on Wednesday.
