Update from the HPC media conference
He is excited to be on the park and guys tend to push it a bit. He still has a 65-70% chance of making it, but he needs to be up to Super Rugby standard, if not he won’t be part of the semi. Should he not be ready, we will stick with Deon at the back, it worked for us.”
The DHL Stormers were away on camp in the Overberg on the weekend. “It gave us time to extend the training week a bit and to do a bit of spanbou. “ said the coach. “Now it’s back to normal preparations and focus. It is time to embrace the pressure and to rise to the occasion.”
Commenting on the up-coming semi, the coach added, “Its knock out rugby and it’s a local derby, a physical battle for sure and it will be tight. The Sharks are in form at the moment and both sides know each other well. We won’t be doing much different and know what to expect. It is going to be about fronting up, accuracy and focus, there is no lack of belief, desire, passion, or commitment, from this Stormers team.”
