Stormers hand out prizes at Holy Cross Convent
On the 6th May, Investec Stormers players Selborne Boome and Willem Stoltz handed over the first prize for winning the “Black is Back Stormers Schools competition” at Holy Cross Convent in Brooklyn – the winning school that raised just over R16 per pupil. Collections of food, toiletries and other needy items were also collected for the children at The Salesian Institute.
Selborne and Willem handed the winning school the prize of a personal computer generously sponsored by Bucknet Internet Service Provider. Stormers hampers were handed out to the ten children who collected to most money. The children were very excited and did not shy away from asking many questions about the life of a rugby player, once the opportunity was given to them.
A grand total of R14800 was collected, of which R6053 was raised by Holy Cross Convent alone.
Heartfelt thanks goes out to all of the schools that took part in this event, the monies raised will be used for very worthwhile causes.
