Burger’s right calf muscle strain responded well to treatment, but the player is not yet medically ready to play in a match.
Burger is expected to be fit for the Investec Stormers fixture against the Blues at Newlands next week.
Pietie Ferreira, currently on loan from the Lions, will take up Burgers starting position against the Crusaders.
