With the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon on this weekend, there will be no public parking in the vicinity of DHL Stadium on Saturday and spectators attending the DHL Stormers’ clash against Munster are urged to park remotely and catch a free MyCiTi bus shuttle to the stadium.

The DHL Stormers take on the Irish side at 18h00 on Saturday in what will be their first home match of the Vodacom United Rugby Championship campaign.

Fritz Sonnenberg Road, Vlei Road, Stephan Way, and Granger Bay Boulevard and Fort Wynyard Street will all be closed with restrictions on Helen Suzman Boulevard and Somerset Road.

There will be no public parking available at the stadium or in the immediate vicinity without a Venue Access Pass or issued parking ticket. All parking bays will be marked with no stopping signs and fenced or coned. All illegally parked vehicles will be towed away.

Spectators can catch a free MyCiTi bus from the Civic Centre, Thibault Square, or CTICC bus stations by showing their match ticket on entry to ensure that they do not miss any of the action.

The shuttle service will take spectators to the Stadium Station, starting at 15h30. Thereafter, a bus leaves every 20 minutes or when full. The last return bus leaves the Stadium bus station at 22h00.

There is free public parking servicing the Civic MyCiTi bus station, available on a first-come first-served basis at the Woodstock and Hertzog Boulevard parking areas which opens at 15h00 and closes at 22h00. Parking is at your own risk.

There is also dedicated paid parking available in the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) parking area for R150 (CLICK HERE to buy now – online bookings only). This parking opens at 15h00 and closes at midnight.

DHL Stadium is in a residential precinct, so please respect the residents and co-operate with the traffic officials on duty. Please note that vehicles that are illegally parked will be towed away. Very strict road restrictions will be in place with no parking allowed in the stadium precinct at all.

Disabled ticket holders have a dedicated parking area in P5. These parking bays are limited to those with a disc and will only be issued to those who apply before matchday to [email protected].

There will be a dedicated e-hailing drop-off area on Helen Suzman Boulevard between York Circle and Beach Road with a stacking area at Green Point bowling greens, but spectators are warned that drop-and-go and pick-up in this area will have long delays due to expected traffic congestion.

All spectators are urged to park remotely and use the free shuttle service to get to the stadium at least two hours before the match kicks off. Make sure you get into the stadium precinct early given the expected delays due to road closures and enjoy the game.
