The 30 year old Gerber, born in George, boasts an impressive rugby career to date. He made his debut for WP vs Border in 1998 and went on to play 90 games in the blue and white hoops, scoring 70 points (14 tries)

He also received 54 caps for the Stormers since his debut vs the Bulls in 1999 (total points 30 – 6 tries).

“It is with sadness and mixed emotions that I am ending an era at WP. The time I spent here will always rate amongst my best experiences and WP Rugby will always be special. I will miss Province, Newlands, the fans and all that helped to make my tenure here memorable. I am however looking forward to making the most of a great opportunity at Brives,” said Hendrik Gerber

“To play almost 100 games for a Province like WP is a great milestone and says a lot about the individual. Hendrik’s loyalty to his teammates has always impressed everyone who has worked with him. We are very sorry to see a player of Hendrik’s caliber leave, however we understand and support his reasons for doing so and we wish him all the best at Brives”, said WP Rugby MD Rob Wagner.
