Condolences to McKenzie Family
Immanuel made his debut for WP against the Leopards in the Vodacom Cup in 2001 and earned 26 caps in the Blue and White Hoops. He also represented the WP Merit A side, as well as the WP under 21’s in 1999 and 2000.
“It is incredibly tough to lose a young talented player and special person like Immanuel. His passion and commitment to the game and those around him will be missed by all. Our heart felt condolences to his family, club, teammates and friends,” said WPRFU CEO Theuns Roodman.
On hearing the news in New Zealand, the Vodacom Stormers posted the following message:
“The Vodacom Stormers management and players express their sincere condolences to family and friends and Tygerberg Rugby Club at the untimely passing away of Manny McKenzie. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. News of Manny’s death was greeted with shock in the Stormers camp in Auckland and we share in the grief of the McKenzie family as well as the many people in rugby who knew Manny. The Tygers will miss him dearly.”
