Naqelevuki, who has been included in the Vodacom Stormers training squad for the 2010 Vodacom Super 14 season, is no stranger to the South Western Districts region while Clever, who has 31 international Test caps to his name, recently played Super Rugby for the Johannesburg-based Auto & General Lions.

“I always enjoy playing Sevens rugby and it feels good to be able to represent Fiji at the Emirates Airline SA Sevens tournament this weekend,” said Naqelevuki.

“We want to win this tournament and hopefully, if I could get a chance, I would like to try and assist wherever I can. I enjoy spending some time with my Fijian colleagues. Whenever they are in George for this tournament, I am with them to offer my support.

“This tournament is really an exciting competition and it’s just great to be part of it.”

Fiji, who defeated South Africa in the Dubai quarter-finals, star their Emirates Airline SA Sevens campaign on Friday in Pool B with Portugal, Russia and Australia.

The USA has the difficult task of fronting up to Samoa, World Cup holders, Wales, and Dubai winners New Zealand on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Kenyan team took time out of from their hectic schedule to attend a coaching clinic earlier on Wednesday morning at the Rosemore Sports Grounds.

Eight local schools in the South Western Districts area were mentored by the African team, who is in Pool A along with Zimbabwe, France and hosts South Africa.

“It’s always good to be able to visit communities and interact with the locals on our trips around the world,” said Kenyan Sevens captain Humphrey Kayange.

“South Africa is a great rugby nation and you can understand why, simply by being amongst these kids. There are definitely lots of talented and skilful youngsters in this country and we’ve seen some right here in George.

“We’ve always had good support in George and hopefully, some of these locals will come out on Friday and Saturday and support us.”

The Springbok Sevens team also attended the annual Sasol signing session at the Garden Route Mall in George.

Hundreds of Bok fans gathered at the shopping centre and spent some time with the South African Sevens players. The Bok Sevens players signed autographs and also took photographs with many fans at the Mall.

Meanwhile the organisers have announced that tickets for Saturday are sold out, but rugby fans will still be able to get their hands on tickets for Friday’s action.
