The first Springbok to come out of the Institute is Juan de Jongh and this year the following Institute players participated in the Super Rugby friendlies viz.

The identified young players enter the Institute in January and embark on a 10 month intensive rugby course which also includes an academic programme. The rugby skills programme is now producing outstanding rugby players and this is evident in the fact that apart from CJ van der Linde, WP Rugby did not contract outside its borders for the upcoming 2011 season. Developing for the future from “within” is key critical for success and the Institute is meeting the demand.
