The DHL Stormers are ending the year with a Vodacom United Rugby Championship SA derby against the Emirates Lions at DHL Stadium. Follow all the action here with our live updates.

A win tonight will see the DHL Stormers go unbeaten at home in 2022. The Emirates Lions were the last South African team to beat them, over a year ago.

0 – Action underway at DHL Stadium. Lions with an early breakdown penalty and they kick to the corner.

2 – We win a penalty at the line-out and Libbok clear up to the 10 metre line.

4 – Both team kicking as they look for territorial dominance.

7 – We burst into the 22 and it goes to Willemse who dummies through the gap to score and put us 7-0 up.

10 – Willemse tackled in the air this time so we kick to the corner.

12 – Forwards maul and Deon Fourie scores. Manie’s conversion hits the pole and we are 12-0 up.

16 – Lions get a breakdown penalty and kick up to the 22. Another breakdown penalty and they kick for goal this time with Hendrikse making it 12-3.

20 – Lions kick out from the restart and win a penalty at the line-out, so they kick up to the 22 again.

23 – Lions knock-on so we have a scrum on our 22. Advantage from the scrum and we go wide. Davids kicks ahead and the Lions take it into touch.

25 – Incredible break by Zas who takes it into the 22. It goes out to Davids, but he knocks on.

28 – A little snipe from Paul de Wet and he finds Dan du Plessis on his inside shoulder for the third try.

30 – The attacking intent is still there but a loose ball is picked up by Van der Merwe. He knocks on in the tackle so we have a scrum just outside our 22.

32 – Lions win it back and go at us, but Fourie wins a breakdown penalty on the 22 so we can clear.

34 – Nohamba kicks a 50-22 from the base so the Lions have a line-out in the 22.

36 – Lions get a breakdown penalty and kick to the corner. Great maul defence as we force them into touch.

38 – Great clearance from Libbok takes the Lions back into their own half.

39 – Lions with another breakdown penalty and they kick to the corner again. Knocked on and that is half-time. We take a 19-3 lead into the break.

41 – Straight onto the attack again, but the ball is lost forward out wide, so the Lions have a scrum on the 22.

43 – Lions clear and we run it back, but they get another breakdown penalty so can kick up to halfway.

45 – A break from Manie Libbok in the 22 and we race into their 22. Libbok is on hand to finish it, but the ref calls it back for a forward pass so the Lions have a scrum.

47 – Lions kick and then turn it over on halfway. High tackle called so they kick to the corner.

49 – First try for the visitors from outside centre Henco van Wyk makes it 19-8.

53 – We run from our own 22 and Hacjivah Dayimani breaks the line before giving it to Angelo Davids for the bonus point try. Touchline conversion from Libbok makes it 26-8.

57 – Lions knock-on in midfield so we have a scrum on halfway.

60 – Libbok kicks deep and the Lions try to run out of their 22.

62 – Lions look to have scored an intercept try, but it is disallowed due to a knock-on in the build-up. We have a scrum on the 22 instead, but it is reversed for an early shove.

65 – Breakdown penalty for us this time, so Libbok can kick up over halfway.

67 – That’s a double for Davids as he takes the last pass from Dayimani again before stepping inside his man to score. That makes it 33-8.

70 – Lions on the attack in the 22 but a great tackle forces a knock-on.

71 – Scrum penalty so we kick up to halfway.

75 – Another penalty and we kick into the 22 this time as we look to end in style.

78 – Marcel Theunissen steps and dives to score, with the conversion taking it out to 40-8.

80 – That’s full-time and we end the year unbeaten at home.
