Canal Walk Schools Day at DHL Newlands

The event which is now in its 8th year will see high school first teams from Boland Landbou, Paul Roos, Paarl Gym, Paarl Boys, Tygerberg HS, SACS, DF Malan, Durbanville, Brackenfell and De Kuilen take on each other in some early pre-season action.

In addition teams from a number of primary schools will also participate on the day. U9 teams that will be present are; Siyabulela, Mamre, De Tyger, Excelsior, DR. GJ Joubert, Rondebosch, Dennemere and sweet Valley, whilst Stellenbosch and Noord Eind will showcase the game at U13 level.

“The day is always a fun day for the Youth and serves as important pre-season preparation for many of the teams.” said GM WP Youth Rugby Theo Kleynhans. “Canal Walk has been an excellent sponsor of the event allowing us to grow each year and present a tournament that is both fun and of enormous value to the participating teams and the Union in terms of growing the game.
